Aaron is generally friendly, but he does like to push limits. He accepts no for no and doesn’t push once he’s been told, very firmly, to stop.
When he feels threatened, he prefers flight to fight, although if cornered he can defend himself decently. He knows an amount of self-defense to where he could fight off an assailant around his height, weight, and skill level or lower.
He prefers to take orders rather than give them, but has enough confidence and self-discipline to step up and take authority if he has enough respect from the people involved. If given the opportunity to develop his leadership skills, he would take easily and well to a leadership role.
He is a fast thinker and often repeats words or phrases to give himself extra time to think instead of using vocal fillers such as ‘ah’ or ‘um’ or ‘uh’. However, he does say things such as “I guess” or “probably” at the end of his sentences, even with statements he is quite sure of. He often has running commentary in his head that doesn’t come out, some of it really quite mean and critical. His filter, correspondingly, is excellent, and what does come out is usually supportive and constructive. It doesn’t mean he’s always nice, though, and has the ability to be very cutting and catty if the situation calls for it.
He prefers listening to talking and typing to writing. His writing is actually pretty bad and so he types more and more, contributing to a rather sad cycle where his writing gets worse and worse after periods of disuse. He does doodle aimlessly to release stress and likes to sketch things, and has enough skill to sketch a basic outline and fill it in later with minimal reference. He is decent with technology and can figure out a new piece of tech with basic instruction and time.
He tends to turn to brain before brawn, but appreciates the power of a good, hard knuckle sandwich when reasoning doesn’t work. He likes to have intellectual conversations or arguments and doesn’t mind when they get heated, and it always ready to pour passion and enthusiasm into an argument or project once he’s invested enough. When it comes to destructive, negative arguments, he can get mildly physical with poking or invasion of personal space. It’s rare for him to get more violent than that unless he’s really mad, really scared, or both.
Aaron is a naturally compassionate person. It’s hard for him to watch somebody in pain while unable to help, and if he can he will help them in any way he can. Sometimes, he overstretches himself when trying to help people, and can get burned out relatively quickly in this way.
He enjoys his sleep and appreciates a day off to relax, although it is unlikely he will be lazy and spend all day goofing off.
He’s easy to make upset, but hard to make truly angry. When he’s angry, he’ll often yell for a bit before going off to sulk. In extreme cases he searches for physical outlets for frustration and anger.
With frustration and also nerves/anxiety, he grips his wrist hard enough for a red ring of irritation to appear around it. With anger, he clenches his hands into fists and tends to get extremely tense, and usually lets it out in either screaming or aggressive eating of salty foods, like chips.
He also searches for physical outlets in extreme happiness or sadness. When he’s happy, he tends to be more optimistic and cheery, and is more likely to use wide, sweeping gestures and talking with his hands. He also touches people more, on the shoulder, hand, or face with close friends. He is much more likely to hug people or want physical contact.
When he’s sad or unhappy, he either withdraws or forces himself to be overly outgoing to try and stabilize his mood. When he withdraws, he doesn’t talk to people except for close friends and teachers and absorbs himself into his studies. He rejects physical contact and doesn’t react to people trying to socialize with him. When he overcompensates, he becomes uncomfortably touchy and loud and is very jumpy, often visibly uncomfortable.
History: Aaron had a relatively stable life until he hit thirteen. Before, he was raised female in a heavily Christian household, went to church every Sunday, and his parents supported him in what he wanted to do. His first rough spot was when he started seriously questioning gender at thirteen. When he shared mild concerns with his parents, they took him immediately to therapists and psychologists, who put him on antidepressant and antianxiety meds. He grew into dependence on them and started to present more as male by fourteen. He was kicked out of the house at age sixteen when he came out fully to his parents, and was forced to live on the street for four years, unable to get housing from charitable organizations even if he could get some form of support. Riddler picked him up as a henchman after Aaron helped him bandage a minor, but aggravating injury after he was the target of an attempted mugging. Instead of checking with a doctor when the injury became worse, he returned to Aaron. Aaron helped him return to the hideout after he was left unable to walk, and to prevent Aaron from turning him in to the police and collecting a sizeable reward he hired him as a henchman. This helped him get back on his feet, get a job, and finish high school. Once he did he applied for a grant and multiple scholarships, and was accepted into med school, where he was on his second year before Riddler left [events of Riddler's Revenge]his henchmen. Aaron then moved in with a friend and got a new job working in the volunteer clinic at his university. The week before finals he woke up, plunked into Freesia.
Aspirations: Aaron wants to survive, at first, because the place is relatively big and relatively scary. Once he settles in, learning about the Shadows will rank pretty high on his list, but he will always want to help people. His main aspiration is and always will be to become a doctor, and he still hopes that he can.
Fears: Death, failure, drowning. Death is pretty easy; nobody really wants to die. He is terrified of failure, moral, physical, mental, or otherwise—a need impressed upon him from his time on the street, and sharpened by the competitiveness of his school. He never learned how to swim, and so will quickly flounder and sink in water above his head. He had a traumatic experience when he was very young and almost drowned after falling asleep in the bathtub.
Inventory: First aid kit, backpack [medical encyclopedia, pencil pouch, sketchbook]
Magic: Healing
Reason: He constantly seeks to help people in any way he can, and his main aspiration is to be a doctor. Even though he’s proficient enough to do first-aid without the help of magic, upon entering this universe it would make sense for the magic he gains to be beneficial in nature—not for him, but other people, too.

Aaron could only absorb so much information without feeling like his head was going to pull a balloon and burst. Thankfully, that amount was quite a lot. “So the Nightside popped into existence fully formed, or did it have to be built?”
He quietly assumed that Londinium was actually London, though he had no doubts that the long-winded detective would waste no time correcting him in the case he was wrong. And he was long-winded. Aaron could barely get a word in edgewise now that he’d started up, and had to take a step to the side to allow Tommy’s gesticulations. He did manage to wedge in his own words sometimes, including— “brother?”— “John Taylor?”
He eventually gave up on holding a conversation and allowed Tommy to monologue. From the way he was carrying on, it seemed as if he didn’t get the chance to do it often.
Notes: I am not going to roleplay sexual assault or rape, period, but all types of other violence is a go! I actually really like roleplaying fights and conflict. I usually use the small command to make my roleplaying look neater, but if anybody doesn’t like that or has issues reading it they can tell me! Riddlermun and I talked about Riddler and Aaron's relationship before I put in any details about their relationship/history, so nothing is hazy or confusing for the both of us history-wise.
